The 2008 edition of Capital Lakefair is coming up July 16th through the 20th.

Opening night of Lakefair -- Wednesday the 16th -- Roxy's Kris Marshall is hosting the Battle of the Bands.  Bands featuring high school musicians -- incoming freshman thru class of 2008 -- compete on the Main Stage at Lakefair for a $100 gift card from Music 6000, a $200 gift card from Music 6000, and a $500 Visa gift card.  Check back here often to see which bands are going to be battling it out.

The City of Tumwater's 21st annual Independence Day Parade is this morning.

The parade starts at 11.  The theme this year is of the Olympic variety: Rock The Rings.  Watch for the 94.5 Roxy UL-11 Miss Executif III hydro in the parade.  Then, after the parade, don't forget the Artesian Family Festival and Thunder Valley Fireworks Show at the Tumwater Valley Golf Course starting at 6.
