Lacey Parks and Recreation is offering a basketball camp for girls 8- to 14-years-old or entering the 3rd through 8th grades. North Thurston Basketball Coach Alana Erickson and her staff and players are leading camp participants through a variety of drills and games designed to develop and improve skills. Each player receives a commemorative picture certificate and a camp ball. The camp runs Monday through Thursday from 9 til noon each day at North Thurston High School. Camp fee is $60. Capital Playhouse’s production of Peter Pan is set to impress audiences with ample amounts of WOW factor. Flying by Foy, the company best known for bringing theatrical flying to Broadway in 1950 -- including Mary Martin’s Peter Pan -– has been commissioned to bring the fairy dust to Capital Playhouse’s production. Peter, Wendy, John, Michael, and even Liza are floating magically across the stage to Neverland Thursday through Sunday at 7:30 each night with with a Sunday matinee at 2 at SPSCC’s Center for the Arts. It's the 2008 Girls Without Limits Summer Day Camp. Calling all girls aged 9 to 14. The YWCA of Olympia’s Girls Without Limits program is offering two low-cost summer day camps in this month and next. Make new friends and learn new things. Cost of the camp is $200 for two weeks. Get ready for Kids' Day at the Tumwater Farmers' Market. The Tumwater Farmers Market is hosting a day devoted to kids. There are games and activity stations, face painting, a bounce house, and good ol' summer time fun. It's sponsored by the Tumwater Farmers Market, Obee Credit Union, Washington Federation of State Employees, Washington State Employees Credit Union, Tumwater Parks and Recreation, and the Hands on Children’s Museum. The Capital Lakefair 3K & 8K Runs are coming up on Saturday of Lakefair weekend. Races start at 8:00 that morning at Heritage Park at Capital Lake. It's a fundraiser for Capital High School Athletics. All runners and walkers are welcome. All racers are eligible for random drawings for prizes. Race awards include overall, master’s and super master’s for both men and women, and five-year age groups for men & women, boys & girls. Relax with music and enjoy refreshing snacks after the race. It's the Black Hills Boys Basketball Golf Tournament. It's a fundraisier happening Monday the 21st with a shotgun start at 8 in the morning at Tumwater Valley Golf Course. It’s a four-person format. Tumwater Parks and Recreation is presenting Challenger British Soccer Camps this summer. Certified British Soccer Coaches are flown in to conduct these camps for 6- to 12-year-old boys and girls. Emphasis is on individual skill development, fundamentals, and technical and tactical instruction in all areas of the game. Registration fee os $104 includes and official camp t-shirt and ball.
